Job Description

As a WordPress and React Developer on our team, you’ll collaborate with a dynamic, globally dispersed team of skilled developers. We utilize GitHub and Zenhub for project management and maintain an open, flat team structure with open lines of communication via Slack. We value self-motivated individuals who take initiative and are brimming with inspiration.

This role is tailored for someone with a profound understanding of both WordPress and React. You should have experience creating your own themes and plugins, and perhaps even contributing to the WordPress Core. You derive satisfaction from crafting elegant solutions to intricate problems, all while embracing the philosophy that “code is poetry” in the WordPress world. You stay up-to-date with the latest trends and technologies, actively participating in the open-source community, and relish in developing software that propels the web forward. While WordPress is PHP-based, our flagship product features a front-end interface built with React and Flux, demanding a substantial focus on JavaScript in your role.

Required Experience

A comprehensive understanding of the WordPress core software and its underlying code.

Proven experience in developing WordPress themes and plugins.

Mastery of WordPress coding standards and security best practices.

Required Skills

Proficiency in PHP

Expertise in CSS/SASS

Strong knowledge of HTML

Competence in MySQL

Proficiency in JavaScript (ES6) and jQuery

Familiarity with React and Git

Bonus Qualifications

Experience with React + Redux

Gutenberg block development expertise

Knowledge of TypeScript

Familiarity with Unit Testing (Jest, PHPUnit, WPUnit)

A history of contributing to open-source software
