Back-up WordPress Developer

Hello

We are looking for a back-up WordPress Developer to join our team. Make Your Mark is a marketing and advertising agency.

The ideal candidate will be able to work with our graphic designer, who provides all designs to the websites we create, and develop wordpress websites.

Experience in developing wordpress website is required.

The candidate will need to be on call and a backup when our in house web developer is offline. You must be highly detail oriented, comfortable adapting to clients’ needs and working within a fast-paced changing environment.

YOU SHOULD HAVE:
• Expert knowledge of WordPress Platform
• Expertise in WordPress Custom Theme Development and Plugin Development
• Expertise in WP Plugin Integration (for example, WooCommerce, WPML, Membership plugins etc.)
• Should understand how to make WordPress manageable from admin panel
• Understands WP architecture and knows how to perform database and code optimization for WordPress
• Expertise in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript
• Proficiency in PHP/MYSQL
• A through understanding of cross-browser compatibility issues
• Expert understanding of responsive web design techniques
• Understanding of Web Standards/Semantics and Accessibility Guidelines
• An ability to work on multiple projects and tasks at the same time
• Great attention to detail, highly organized
• A positive and upbeat attitude with the ability to learn quickly
• Minimum 2 years of experience in WordPress Development
• Experience with Magento, and Shopify a plus but not required
• Experience with ReactJS/AngularJS a plus but not required
• Excellent written and spoken English required
• The availability to work between 9:00 am to 6:00 pm EST (this doesn’t mean you need to do the work during this time just available to communicate)
• The ability to adapt to a diverse and multicultural environment
• A reliable workstation with a fast computer, microphone and speakers, reliable internet and power if working remotely

YOUR DUTIES AND TASKS:
• Developing as well as providing maintenance support for WordPress sites
• Developing custom themes and plugins
• Migrating websites from other platforms to WordPress
• Integrating and setting up plugins like WPML, WooCommerce, Membership, etc.
• Optimizing page speed of WordPress sites
• Implementing SEO/CRO best practices in WordPress sites
• Transforming complex PSD layouts into pixel-perfect presentation layer HTML5/CSS3 templates
• Creating responsive website designs
• Working with WordPress templates
• Handling multiple projects at the same time
• Producing high-quality work with a strong focus on detail

We are looking for talented and diligent candidates who excel in our skills tests, and will consider these candidates even if past experience or educational background criteria aren’t met.

Make Your Mark focuses on E-Commerce, Advertising, B2B, Social Media Marketing, and Online Video Advertising. Their company has offices in Philadelphia. They have a small team that’s between 1-10 employees.
